NorWest Co-op Community Food Centre held its second annual Art of Good Food fundraiser on June 15 at the Qualico Family Centre at Assiniboine Park. Hosted by BMO Bank of Montreal, the evening featured Winnipeg chefs and artists who came together to create food tastings and live art in support of healthy food programs in the North End’s Inkster neighbourhood.
Allan Pineda who operates Baon Manila Nights, a monthly Filipino pop-up dinner series in Winnipeg, hosted a recent fundraiser for the Norwest Community Centre featuring Master Chef finalist Jeremy Senaris.
Global Winnipeg and Chef Ben Kramer profiled the NorWest Co-op Community Food Centre’s Art of Good Food fundraiser.
“We do food work too so it makes sense to support an organization like Norwest that gets good food to this community” says Chef Ben Kramer. He was on site this morning whipping up veggie tacos on CTV morning news with Rachel Lagace and talking about why nine of Winnipeg’s top Chefs are supporting the Art of Good Food event!
