General Program Information
We currently recommend participants over the age of 5 wear masks and maintain physical distancing at in-person programs. With the exception of Bright Start Access where we require masks to be worn by all participants over the age of 5.
Programs are closed for statutory holidays.

Free Baby Gift for New Parents
Did you just have a baby? Bright Start would like to help you celebrate this wonderful event. We have a book, which we’d love to give to you to keep and enjoy. To receive your FREE book, contact us and leave us your mailing address, child’s name, and date of birth.
The Bright start (formerly Inkster Parent Child Coalition) is supported by Manitoba Child and Youth Services within the Department of Families, to plan and implement an early years strategy for Inkster. We provide free caregiver/child centered activities and resources for families with children 0-6 years old that focus on:
- Nutrition and physical health
- Literacy and learning
- Positive parenting and
- Community capacity building
Supports Available to Families:
- Public Health Nurse support:
- Baby weight check
- Breastfeeding
- Immunization check
- Dietitian support (Thursdays):
- How to start infants on solid foods
- What to do with picky eating
- Tips on good nutrition
- Primary Care:
- Prenatal and postnatal care
- Well-baby visits
- Immunization
- Inkster Parent Child Coalition:
- Parenting support
- Parenting resources and programs
Eligibility:
- Families with children 0-6 years old
- All caregivers welcome – grandparent, aunt, uncle, etc.
- This is a drop-in program, no registration needed
BRIGHT START PROGRAM INFO
Light breakfast/snack provided at each program.
