NorWest has a vibrant and active volunteer community that supports our many programs and services.
Most volunteer opportunities are during the day, once per week, at the same time each week. Some volunteer roles require strong English language, social service experience or education. Gain experience in: Food preparation, Health, Social Services, Community Development, Customer Service and Education.
Process: application, interview, screening, reference checks, placement options, orientation, training. Volunteer opportunities are in various locations of the Inkster area (north-west Winnipeg).

Current Volunteer Opportunities
Details: Interact with community, support staff with program set up, organization, clean up and lift heavy boxes
Time: Fridays 12:30 PM – 3:00 PM
Chef’s Assistant – Community Food Centre
Details: Help prepare delicious food with a Chef and other volunteers, help with clean up
Time: Monday, Wednesday or Friday 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM Thursdays NOON – 3:00 PM
Greeter / Server – Community Food Centre
Details: Help greet the community and serve delicious food and drinks with other volunteers. Help with clean up at the end.
Time: Monday, Wednesday or Friday 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM Thursdays 4:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Fruit and Vegetable Markets – Community Food Centre
Details: Interact with community, support staff with program set up, organization, clean up and lift heavy boxes
Time: Various times and locations
Program Assistants (Bright Start / Baby STEPS / Resource Centres )
Details: Interact with community, support staff with set up, clean up, snack preparation and health screening
Time: Daytime, weekdays, various start dates, times and locations
Community Lunch Helpers – Blake Gardens Resource Centre
Details: Prepare lunch for 45-60 people, assist with serving and clean up, interact with community
Time: Tuesdays: Food preparation 9:30 am – 1:00 pm Serving and clean up 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
